1994 | Return of the Pre-'64 Model 70 type action design with claw extraction, controlled round feed, fixed-type ejection and many other features that made the original the most loved and prized bolt action rifle in history. Of all the Winchesters, no rifle design has been revered more among hunters, collectors, target shooters and outdoor writers than the Model 70 with the Pre-'64 type action One Hundredth Anniversary of the Winchester Model 94 lever action. Specially engraved anniversary models are offered to commemorate the most famous of all Winchester lever actions. Often called "The Gun that Won the West." Model 1300 NWTF Black Shadow, Turkey Superflage and Buck & Tom, Superflage Camo offered with TRUGLO sights Model 9410, a .410 bore lever action shotgun makes it debut. 2005 | The 325 WSM caliber was added to the Model 70 line. Used for thick-skinned, big game animals. A Super Grade III, and Sporter III stock were added to the Model 70 line. A Camo Ultimate Shadow with blued barrel offered. A Super Grade III Model 70 and a model for the RMEF is offered. Featherweight in stainless and a new Sporter III is introduced. The Coyote now comes in a stainless, Lite stainless or Lite blued model. In the Historical guns section, the Model 1885 High Wall comes is offered in all three WSM calibers, and the Low Wall model is offered in 17 Mach 2 caliber. The Model 94 lever action is now available in a Trails End Hunter model, with a round or octagon barrel. A Marble’s front sight is featured on most Model 94 rifles. The new Timber Scout, a very fast, quick rifle is offered in 30-30 or 44 Rem. Mag. The Model 94 Legacy, with a 26" round or octagon barrel, is offered with a blued or case-colored receiver. The Model 9422, one of the most popular 22 rimfire rifles ever, is discontinued. Several high-grade “Tribute” models are available for a limited time. In the over/under shotgun line, there is a new Energy Sporting and Energy Trap, with or without an adjustable comb. The Super X2 now has a fine camo finish on the 3 1/2" Camo Waterfowl model, and a new Light Field is available. The 3” Sporting Clays Signature has a red anodized receiver and magazine cap. 2006 | On January 17 of 2006 it was announced that U.S. Repeating Arms Company (the company that makes Winchester brand Model 94s, Model 70s and the Model 1300 Speed Pump Shotgun) would be shutting down the factory located in New Haven, Connecticut. Production of Model 70 and Model 94 rifles, along with Model 1300 shotguns ends. SXR Super X Rifle is introduced. It has a modern gas-operated autoloading system, bolt-action accuracy, removable trigger group, detachable box magazine and an international-styled walnut stock. The historic Model 1885 and Centennial Hunter are offered, both with machined steel receivers, adjustable triggers and timeless falling block design. The 1885 Centennial has a gold-embellished 30-06 seal over polished blued steel on the right side of the receiver, creating a lasting tribute to 100 years of the 30-06 Springfield cartridge. Three new Selects over and under shotgun¹s, the Midnight, White Field Extreme and White Field Traditional are introduced. All are made in Belgium with modern materials and Old World craftsmanship. |
2007 | Winchester introduces the Wildcat bolt-action 22 rifle. Built-in Russia by the legendary TOZ Arsenal, the Wildcat features a precision rifled barrel for greater accuracy and a full-size checkered hardwood stock. The Super X3 autoloading shotgun is offered in Mossy Oak® Duck Blind™. The Select over and under shotgun is offered in a new Select Platinum Sporting, Field and Deluxe Field model. They feature a low-profile receiver, Pachmayr® Decelerator® recoil pad, TRUGLO® fiber-optic sights (selected models) and are made in Belgium with modern materials and Old World craftsmanship. The new Select Model 101 is new for 2007 in a Sporting and Field models. It features legendary styling and handling with added benefits of modern manufacturing techniques and features like a low-profile receiver and the Invector-Plus™ interchangeable choke system. |
2008 | The Winchester Model 70 returns, more regal than ever. It is now being manufactured in Columbia, SC, at the same state-of-the-art factory as the rifles and machine guns used by America’s Armed Forces. They are made to the exact ISO 9001 standard of quality that Uncle Sam insists upon for military firearms. The Model 70 has a new M.O.A. Trigger System and improved three-position safety. To commemorate the reintroduction of this timeless model, every Model 70 rifle manufactured in 2008 will have a custom one-piece floorplate. In the lineup are 24 new models and calibers. A new 3" Exhibition/Sporting Composite shotgun is introduced, with an additional gas piston, Dura-Touch Armor Coating and an adjustable stock. A version of this shotgun used to set a world record by breaking 11 hand-thrown clay targets unassisted before they hit the ground. A new Classic Field Super X3 is offered. It has a walnut stock with classic checkering. Also new for 2008 is the 3 1/2" NWTF Cantilever Extreme Turkey SX3 autoloading shotgun. It comes with a TRUGLO® Red Dot scope. It has a 24" barrel with an extra full extended turkey choke tube. A new spec of the fast swinging over and under Model 101 shotgun is introduced. The new Model 101 Pigeon Grade Trap with or without an adjustable comb will make all trapshooters drool. The Speed Pump shotgun, in three models, is available. There is a Walnut Field, Black Shadow Field with composite stock and the Defender model with an 18" barrel and composite stock. |
2009 | The Model 70 iSuper Grade, which includes a high-grade walnut stock, hex socket action screws and a one-piece trigger guard and flush-mount hinged magazine floorplate. Model 70 in an Extreme Weather for 2009. It features a Bell and Carlson™ premium composite stock with an alloy skeletal bedding block that’s molded right into the stock. 11 calibers. The Coyote Light offered with a Bell and Carlson synthetic stock, sculpted cheekpiece and a fine Pachmayr® Decelerator® pad. Six calibers. Model 70 Featherweight and Model 70 Sporter. Featherweight -- Pre-’64 style Controlled Round Feed, three-position safety and jeweled bolt body with knurled bolt handle.
