For 2003, The Winchester Model 1892...A modern legacy.

Winchester is the only firearms company that is worthy to return to the hunters and shooters of today the great Winchester firearms of yesteryear. Why? We have the name, the legacy, the spirit, the craftsmanship, and the pride.

For 2003, Winchester returns one of the most famous, most sought after rifles the world over... the Winchester Model 1892. It was known for its accuracy, high magazine capacity, and fast follow-up shots. Next to his horse, the cowboy called upon his Model '92. It balanced easy in the saddle and low recoil kept him on target. It provided the cattleman, rancher, trapper, homesteader with dinner and got him out of some tight scrapes.
The original calibers were the 44-40, the 38-40 and the 32-20, the most popular being the 44-40. It sold more than the other calibers combined. Today, you can own any one of these original calibers, but you can't lollygag around. These rifles are in a limited production.

There will be two versions of the 1892. The Model 1892 Short Rifle with a 20" tapered octagon barrel. A ten-round tubular magazine will nicely balance the under the barrel. The stock and fore-end will be carved out of solid walnut with a crescent buttplate fitted.

The second Model 1892 will be a Trapper version (Carbine Style) in 45 Colt only. It will have a 16" round, tapered barrel, two-piece walnut straight grip stock with strap style, over-the-top square buttplate. A saddle ring will be fit on the left side.

Both model rifles will be in a limited production.
